Who We Serve
Transportation
The Department of Homeland Security is taking measures to increase the security of the supply chain in the U.S. against the threat of terrorism. These measures began with new U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations for container ports and other waterfront facilities that receive ships from foreign ports. NW Protective is the leading provider of security services to container port facilities in the Northwest and, as such, has become very proficient in providing security services that comply with these rules and regulations.
The new Customs – Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-T PAT) initiative of the Customs and Border Protection Service, another agency of the Department of Homeland Security, extends these new security requirements to the Transportation and Logistics industry.
C-T PAT requires Transportation & Logistics companies to conduct security assessments of their facilities to uncover vulnerabilities that might be exploited by terrorists. Then, these companies must develop and implement security plans which control access to their facilities and ensure security monitoring of the perimeter of the facility to ensure there is no access by unauthorized personnel.
Because of our extensive experience with meeting the new security needs for waterfront facilities, NW Protective is well positioned to work with transportation and logistics companies to provide a cost effective solution to these new, increased security requirements.
