Northwest Protective Services Company History
In 1940, former Washington state legislator and Chief U.S. Marshal, Anthony E. Mandery founded NW Protective with his wife, Velva. Mandery's experience and reputation attracted Webster Brinkley and American Can as the company's first clients.
As the largest locally owned security service provider in the Pacific Northwest, the family tradition has kept the company in touch with its local customers needs while keeping an open door to growth
A few years later, World War II turned Seattle into a major West Coast port, and NW Protective provided most of the security for the Seattle waterfront. When peace arrived - and an economic boom with it - NW Protective expanded to serve hospitals, skyscrapers and industrial sites. Mr. Mandery's constant pursuit of a higher industry standard undergirded the company's continual expansion.
The founders' original vision still anchors NW Protective corporate philosophy today. As the largest locally owned security service provider in the Pacific Northwest, the family tradition has kept the company in touch with its local customers needs while keeping an open door to growth. The corporate headquarters remain in Seattle as do the key decision-makers. Together with regional offices in Tacoma, Portland and Spokane, the group employs over 600 professionally trained Security Officers. Working together, the entire NW Protective team strives toward the constant pursuit of higher industry standards that has maintained NW Protective as one of the top companies in Washington.
